- ➤ The Amarillo Fire Department said a New Year's Day attic fire at a home on 2042 S. Lipscomb Street was quickly contained and is a reminder for residents to inspect and clean chimneys and fireplaces during colder months (no injuries were reported). ABC 7 Amarillo

- ➤ Amarillo is forecast to lead midsize U.S. cities in economic growth in 2026 thanks to new manufacturing jobs and affordable real estate, backed by major rail + transport access. A USA Today projection highlights increased opportunities in the region. NewsTalk 940 AM
