- ➤ A winter storm disrupted flights at Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport on Saturday, causing delays & cancellations. Airport officials said de-icing equipment and updated weather technology were in place while advising travelers to check their airline app. ABC 7 Amarillo
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Amarillo repair crews are fixing a water main break near I-40 and South Nelson Street and expect the repair work to take six to eight hours, with residents advised to drip faucets once water service is restored. NewsChannel 10
- ➤ Xcel Energy officials report they are confident the grid will hold during the extreme cold (subzero wind chills) forecast for days across the Texas Panhandle. Crews will be on standby to respond immediately if outages occur, and customers will be notified quickly through various channels. ABC 7 Amarillo
- ➤ City crews are sanding overpasses and intersections near Georgia (and 58th) to address icy conditions caused by Friday's snow. They will continue treating major arterials and hospital routes across the city throughout the event. ABC 7 Amarillo

- ➤ A water main break occurred on the 1900 block of South Manhattan Street on Saturday, Jan. 24, with crews working for six to eight hours to finish repairs. Residents were advised to drip faucets once service was restored to help prevent freezing. ABC 7 Amarillo
