  • Magic Shop owner Kyle Groves says his business lost nearly all funds after falling victim to an online loan scam while seeking financing for an air conditioning upgrade (cost $6,350).   • The free Gardening with Masters Expo — hosted by Randall County Master Gardeners in partnership with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension — is set for Saturday, Feb. 28 from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at George Washington Carver Elementary Academy to offer Amarillo residents hands-on classes on seed starting, tomatoes, homesteading, and edible landscaping.  96.9 KISS FM

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Firefighters are battling a wildfire near the Potter/Carson County line today, with the blaze located north of Hwy 60 between Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport & Pantex and its forward progression halted as of 4:45 p.m.  ABC 7 Amarillo
  • State officials are staging nearly 150 emergency personnel, pilots, and aircraft to stations in the Panhandle (in Borger, Dalhart, Canadian, and Pampa) on Tuesday morning due to high winds, rising temperatures, and low humidity that pose a critical wildfire risk; crews will remain until Friday to protect lives and property.  ABC 7 Amarillo
