- ➤ Judges have overturned Brittany Holberg's murder conviction and removed her from death row—prosecutors withheld key evidence, and the case goes back to the DA to decide if it will go to trial again. NewsTalk 940 AM
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ On Saturday, fire crews battled two major wildfires in the Texas Panhandle that burned over 27,000 acres with the Windmill Fire 65% contained and the Rest Area Fire 40% contained — prompting evacuations and road closures. Xcel Energy said that thousands remain without power — some customers in Amarillo may not see restoration until early next week. Amarillo Globe-News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Amarillo Area Office of Emergency Management is asking residents in Potter and Randall county to complete a damage survey after Friday's severe weather — the survey uses iSTAT to report impacts from storms, wildfires and power shutoffs. Officials will use the feedback to plan debris removal, repairs and recovery efforts, though submitting a survey does not guarantee individual assistance. ABC 7 Amarillo
