CRIME NEWS

  • Amarillo police are investigating a woman's death—her body was found wrapped in plastic in an alley on March 11th, 2025—with officials reviewing evidence for leads.  ABC 7 Amarillo

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Amarillo is still recovering from Friday’s high winds that produced gusts up to 82 mph and left many without power as crews work to clean up and restore service. The mayors of Amarillo and Canyon declared local disasters and officials urge residents to report property damage while the area braces for more strong winds and fire weather on Monday and Tuesday.  Amarillo Tribune

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • TxDOT in Amarillo said it is closing several roads this week for construction work. The eastbound I-40 exit ramp to Nelson Street is closed today from 8:30 a.m.—additional closures on local roads are planned through Friday for high mast lighting installation, shoring work and bridge demolition.  ABC 7 Amarillo
