Texas Department of Transportation will close the left and center lanes of westbound I-40 at Paramount Boulevard this Wednesday from 9 a.m. to noon for patching, with additional closures planned on north Loop 335 at US 87, on I-40 frontage roads, and at the I-27/I-40 interchange for bridge maintenance.

Amarillo Parks and Rec board is reviewing options to remove prairie dogs from John Stiff Memorial Park amid public safety and cost concerns.

A decision will come next month once cost estimates (under $50K or over) are finalized, with options including relocation or eradication, said board member Tim Reid.
