- ➤ Amarillo Habitat for Humanity is working in North Heights to build new homes for five single-mother families on N Monroe St. Volunteers and students from Fort Hayes State University are joining the project as one home will be completed in four to five months—providing a new chance for affordable home ownership in the area. - ➤ Amarillo residents will join Shi Lee's 9th Annual Citywide Easter Egg Hunt on Easter Sunday, April 20 at Bones Hook Park with the event starting at 1 p.m. The free celebration will offer thousands of eggs filled with candy and toy prizes—food will be served until it is gone and volunteers are needed for setup. 96.9 KISS FM

- ➤ The City of Amarillo said it will not hire a new police chief until next year after Chief Martin Birkenfeld retired abruptly and Interim Chief Jimmy Johnson was named last Friday. The city will issue an RFP this spring—candidate evaluations and public input are planned between October and December with the new chief expected by January. ABC 7 Amarillo
- ➤ The Amarillo College Board of Regents will meet in regular session Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Innovation Outpost (Bradley Center Room 161, 1220 South Polk Street) to discuss appointments, budget changes, purchase of HSI Stem Grant Equipment, an agreement with Amarillo ISD, a bid for a used semi for trucking, and reports on investment and finances with time for public comments.
