- ➤ The Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum marked its one-year anniversary today after closing due to fire and safety issues, and officials, including WT President Walter Wendler & local leaders, are cautiously pursuing plans to reopen it with coordinated support. Amarillo Tribune

- ➤ Panhandle Great 25 Nurses is accepting nominations for its annual nurse recognition program and opening scholarship applications for students pursuing nursing education (Texas Panhandle). - ➤ Amarillo officials and Wild West Wildlife Rehabilitation Center have launched a new plan to relocate prairie dogs from John Stiff Memorial Park to approved sites after past efforts failed; the project, assisted by an anonymous donor, will run for several months with animal health checks and burrow treatments. - ➤ On March 11, the Amarillo Parks Board approved plans to use a $50,000 budget for eradicating a prairie dog colony in John Stiff Park & some residents have launched a petition to stop the plan. 96.9 KISS FM

- ➤ A surge of potent heat is expected to push Amarillo’s temperatures above average through Thursday; forecasts show highs near 95 degrees Wednesday and almost 100* Thursday, which could break monthly records set just days ago. ABC 7 Amarillo

- ➤ Travelers can sign up for TSA PreCheck at Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport from today until March 27, running from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The enrollment with IDEMIA requires proof of identity and citizenship + fingerprints and a fee for a five-year membership. - ➤ Drivers in Amarillo will face traffic shifts on North Grand Street with detours at the N.E. 24th Ave intersection on Tuesday and Wednesday as crews mill and repave the roadway; on Thursday, eastbound lanes on S.W. 45th Ave will close with traffic moved north between I-27 and S. - ➤ Texas Tech Physicians & TTUHSC announced they may end their in-network agreement with UnitedHealthcare on March 31 unless a revised deal is reached. Over 30,000 patients might lose in-network care and face higher out-of-pocket costs after the contract expires. Amarillo Globe-News
