Early Saturday morning, firefighters controlled an accidental fire at a home on (407 North Mississippi Street) in north Amarillo that displaced four residents and caused $38,000 in damages (with no injuries reported).

Over the weekend, the Amarillo Fire Department said a semi-truck crashed into the Batteries — Bulbs storefront off West I-40 at 12:57 a.m. Sunday and its driver was taken to a local hospital, while a house fire on North Mississippi Street on Saturday at 6 a.m. displaced four residents and caused about $38,000 in damage.

Andrew William Jillard, a convicted sex offender, was arrested by Amarillo police for possessing child pornography with images of an infant and for bestiality after a tip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children on Feb 27 led to a phone search on March 6 when he came to register his vehicle (the search revealed nine images of child abuse material and chats about trading explicit photos).
