- ➤ Today, 29 students from across the Panhandle competed in the Region 16 Spanish Spelling Bee, with Forest Hill Elementary's Jorge impressing as a first-time contestant by spelling 'bien' correctly for the judges. Top winners will advance to state & national rounds. Amarillo Tribune
- ➤ Dr. Iris Jamahl Dunkle will present a lecture on Sanora Babb's life and Dust Bowl work at 7 p.m. April 9 at Legacy Hall at West Texas A&M University as part of the CSAW’s Garry L. Nall lecture series; the event is free. NewsChannel 10

- ➤ WT’s The Hill Institute hosted a free symposium on civil discourse and civics education Tuesday at WT campus, following a joint $2 million grant with Texas Southern University+ to support innovative instruction. - ➤ Baptist Community Services donated an apartment complex to DWC, which has helped many women in Amarillo find sobriety and a safer living environment—supporting those affected by addiction. Amarillo Globe-News

- ➤ Casey's opened in Amarillo at the old Cefco location on FM 2219 and I-27 on Feb. 20, offering its much-hyped breakfast pizza with bacon, sausage, eggs, and cheese sauce (a fan favorite) that earned rave reviews. The store also announced plans for a new location in Claude. NewsTalk 940 AM
