  • The Sh*ts and Giggles BBQ Cook-Off for a Good Cause will be held May 9 in Adrian to benefit Homeless Heroes, which supports veterans.   • Advisors at Amarillo College urged students planning to transfer to choose a major early and take core courses so their credits transfer. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Drivers in Amarillo will see a change in traffic on S.W. 45th Ave. starting Saturday as city crews mill and resurface the road — westbound lanes will close while traffic is shifted to southbound lanes between South Western Street and I-27 until next week.  ABC 7 Amarillo
  • Amarillo’s Environmental Health Department unveiled a new online portal on the city’s website to speed up foodborne illness reports — the system was introduced at a Lunch and Learn session at City Hall on April 1.  Amarillo Globe-News

  • The Amarillo-based Coldcuts skateboarding team is hosting the Kevin Forever Good Friday contest at Martin Road Skatepark today from 6:30 p.m. until dusk.
