  • Keep Amarillo Clean founder Babji Yalamanchili reached his goal of 250 trash bags three months early as part of his 250th anniversary city effort and aims to collect 500 bags by June 30. He invites support from local groups & leaders to help keep the city clean.  NewsChannel 10
  • Amarillo hosts free and engaging community events in April with a pet vaccine clinic on April 11 at the Santa Fe Depot, a public discussion on Apr. 9 at the Downtown Library, an Earth Day clean-up at Thompson Park on April 18, and book and repair events later this month.  Amarillo Globe-News
  • The Don Harrington Discovery Center will host Parents' Night Out Friday, April 10, from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Kids will explore egg drop physics and participate in hands-on exhibits while dinner from Chick-Fil-A is provided, giving parents a well-earned break.  96.9 KISS FM

  • Amarillo Police warn that a friendly wave to merge can lead to dangerous courtesy crashes when drivers have poor visibility; drivers should always verify the road is clear & follow Texas law by yielding before merging.  96.9 KISS FM
  • Funeral arrangements were announced for Steven Tobias Guzman and his wife Debbie after their fatal motorcycle crash; the rosary will be held today at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel and the funeral service is set for Thursday at Messiah’s House with interment later at Dumas Cemetery.  ABC 7 Amarillo

  • Texas farmers have seen nitrogen fertilizer prices jump since the Strait of Hormuz closed, prompting many to consider switching crops while grocery bills for meat, dairy and produce are expected to rise.   • Dr. Andreas Eckstein has been named president and CEO of the Amarillo Economic Development Corporation (AEDC) and will start on May 11.   • Texas A&M AgriLife held a ribbon cutting Tuesday for its new High Plains Research and Extension Center Facility in Canyon.   • Sharing Hope Ministry is hosting a free Handy Gal 101 Workshop on Saturday, April 11 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at the Lucille and Leo Caiafa, Jr. Center for Advancement, where Amarillo women learn basic plumbing, AC maintenance, fire safety, and home safety skills (registration is required and door prizes are offered).  96.9 KISS FM
