- ➤ Texas Department of Public Safety said that a head-on crash occurred Tuesday at 8:50 p.m. on FFA Lane near Dumas—killing 67-year-old Sharon Hickey and sending the driver of a Chevrolet Silverado to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. NewsChannel 10

- ➤ The annual Yellow City Comic Convention returns to Amarillo Civic Center this weekend with a three-day event starting Friday and running through Sunday–the event will feature artists, vendors, cosplay, gaming and celebrity guests including Michael Biehn, Jennifer Blanc, Beau Billingslea, William Salyers, William Ofoegbu, Lee Majdoub and Andy Merrill. - ➤ Amarillo mayoral candidate Jason Herrick said he will seek federal and state grants to repair an old wastewater plant and upgrade water systems without raising property taxes. He said he will also boost public safety and grow the city’s economy (drawing on 25 years of business experience) as he prepares for the May 3 election. Amarillo Globe-News
- ➤ Today, the city announced upgrades to Thompson Park and John Stiff Park using over $16 million from a debt sale—new lighting and extra parking will boost safety for nighttime visitors.
