- ➤ At Palo Duro Canyon, a lost journal, left by Benjamin (the visitor), wedged into a picnic table near the Hackberry restrooms has become a community guest book as visitors write encouraging words while waiting for his return. - ➤ Fritch Volunteer Fire Department honors late Fire Chief Zeb Smith as firefighters cope with his loss and gain ongoing support from the 100 Club+ which aided his family and helped the team move forward. NewsChannel 10
- ➤ NewsChannel 10 is partnering with The 100 Club of the Texas Panhandle for a telethon running until April 14 to help support local firefighters and law enforcement. Viewers can tune in from April 12 to learn how to donate (phone donations accepted at 806-331-9800). NewsChannel 10

- ➤ Wildcat Bluff Nature Center is now accepting registrations for Wildcat Wednesdays, which offers guided hikes and hands-on learning from spring equinox to fall equinox. - ➤ A wildfire continues to burn north of Panhandle + west of HWY 207 and south of Borger as crews respond while residents and travelers are told to avoid the area. ABC 7 Amarillo
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Potter County Fire and Rescue received funding from the 100 Club of the Texas Panhandle, which replaced an outdated John Deere Gator and provided an injury benefit to a firefighter injured last Thursday (officials said) while promising to share the new equipment with other agencies. - ➤ The new parking lots at John Stiff Memorial Park are locked unless a group contacts Parks + Recreation ahead of large events. This step will deter vandalism and noise during off hours while planned park upgrades aim to improve safety and accessibility. Amarillo Globe-News
