- ➤ Chick-fil-A at 4510 Coulter will host a stuffed animal sleepover on Friday, Apr. 24 from 5 to 7 p.m. for kids to drop off their plush toy for crafts and free ice cream + families collect them Saturday between 8 and 10 a.m. with free Chick-n-Minis breakfast. NewsTalk 940 AM
- ➤ During National Volunteer Week from April 19 to 25, local groups celebrated Amarillo volunteers. Amarillo Parks and Recreation recognized 30 individuals who cleaned Thompson Park on April 18 in honor of Earth Day, while other organizations highlighted volunteer work that supports children and community projects. - ➤ A new state analysis warns that Texas faces a $170B water crisis in the next 50 years, stressing conservation steps like capturing rainwater and improving water storage on farms and ranches. Public comments on the proposal are open until the end of May. ABC 7 Amarillo
- ➤ The Texas A&M Forest Service has increased staffing and resources to boost wildfire response amid ongoing high wind and low humidity risks.
