- ➤ Amarillo Firefighters support a project led by local moms to install a Safe Haven Baby Box—giving parents a secure, anonymous way to surrender newborns safely—and fundraising has begun to cover the installation and maintenance costs at no charge to the city. Amarillo Tribune
- ➤ The Wildcat Bluff Nature Center will open nearly two miles of new hiking trails on May 10—created from 125 donated acres by Mariposa Eco-Village—and will host live music, food trucks, and family games. - ➤ Amarillo Parks and Recreation will hold a summer jobs hiring event on April 26 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Warford Activity Center — job seekers may apply on-site for lifeguard, pool cashier and program attendant positions, and those aged 15 to 17 must have a parent or guardian present.
