  • The Amarillo Zoo & Sanctuary reopens today at 9:30 a.m. after nearly a month of renovations, with tours ending at 4:30 p.m. Admission remains at $7.50 for adults and $5.50 for children ages 2 to 12 as the nonprofit prepares to introduce membership options.  NewsChannel 10

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Amarillo Public Library, Panhandle PBS and local genealogical groups host a free genealogy open house at the Downtown Library on Thursday, Apr. 30 (4:30-6:30 p.m.) where visitors can explore research tools, watch Season 12 episodes of Finding Your Roots and learn about family histories including Revolutionary War records.  Amarillo Globe-News
