- ➤ The Amarillo Area Foundation has begun its search for a new president and CEO after losing Clay Stribling while interim leader Keralee Clay guides the change — the board chose WittKieffer to lead the search — which will ask for community ideas and meet with candidates before picking a successor. - ➤ The High Plains Food Bank in Amarillo faced a shortfall when the USDA canceled a federal expansion of the Emergency Food Assistance Program, cutting 250,000 pounds from 13 truckloads of expected food shipments. The food bank has launched a $250,000 fundraising campaign (to boost supplies for over 125 partner agencies) and reported serving 13,000 households in March (a record for the community). - ➤ Amarillo Little Theatre will open Dreamgirls—a musical featuring its largest predominantly African-American cast—on May 1 and run until May 18 with opening night deals and group discounts.
