- ➤ On Friday, May 1, Amarillo ISD honored two teachers at the annual Lamar Lively Teacher of the Year Breakfast; Emily Stowers (Western Plateau Elementary) and Deepa Sobha (Palo Duro High School) were recognized and will represent the district in the Region 16 Teacher of the Year competition later this summer. - ➤ TxDOT Amarillo advises that drivers face lane closures and detours near the BI-40 intersection and on State Loop 335 at SH 136 for bridgework, patching and seal coat operations from today through Friday, May 8.
