- ➤ Today, an Amarillo nonprofit and local businesses furnished a fully stocked home for David Coleman and his wife after months on the streets, giving them a fresh start. - ➤ Around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to a crash on the 1600 block of Kentucky where a stolen vehicle hit, and the Amarillo Fire Department extricated an unconscious driver who later died—officers said the vehicle was reported stolen from Toot n Totum at 1500 Washington. ABC 7 Amarillo

- ➤ West Texas A&M University’s Cornette Library unveiled a new collection and study space for first-generation college students (first in their families to attend college) that includes books and resources to help ease their transition, and the project was partly funded by a $25,000 grant from Bank of America (supporting the initiative). - ➤ Beto O’Rourke will host a town hall meeting at the Amarillo Civic Center today at 1 p.m. in the Heritage Room. The free event lets attendees ask questions about state and federal issues. NewsChannel 10
- ➤ The Amarillo City Council will hold a special meeting on Tuesday at 2 p.m. to canvas the recent election and order a runoff for Place 3 on June 7. Mayor Cole Stanley and Council Members (Don Tipps, Les Simpson, and newcomer Tim Reid) will be sworn in before the regular meeting begins at 3 p.m. in room 3400 at City Hall. KGNC
- ➤ Today, Governor Greg Abbott announced over $739,700 in career training grants from the Texas Workforce Commission to three Panhandle schools — Amarillo College, Clarendon College, and Frank Phillips College — to train students for high-demand jobs like emergency medical technicians, nursing assistants, and licensed nurses. The grants, funded by the biennial Texas Legislature support, will boost career technical training programs and meet local workforce needs. ABC 7 Amarillo
