- ➤ 4650 Bell St in Amarillo, once home to Zips Car Wash and later Cascades, is set for an online auction with a starting bid of $1.25 million—tours occurred on May 16 and another is scheduled for May 30 between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. The auction will open at 9 a.m. on June 2 and end at 11:03 a.m. on June 4. 96.9 KISS FM

- ➤ Quay County Crime Stoppers is searching for Julian Martinez, wanted for attempted murder and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and household assault, who has ties to Amarillo and may be in Tucumcari, Clovis, Albuquerque or Amarillo—police warn he is armed and dangerous. ABC 7 Amarillo
- ➤ On May 18, a 34-year-old man was hit and killed on South Coulter Street when a white Buick Enclave left the road, and driver 35-year-old Brett Hudson was arrested for intoxication manslaughter—investigators said speed and narcotic use contributed to the crash. Amarillo Globe-News
- ➤ Amarillo police say 13 year old Anisa Omar Hussein and her 9 year old brother Mohammed Abeetkahrin have been found safe after running away from home this weekend near Goldenrod Street at Eastridge School Park—both children were last seen Saturday around 1:00 p.m. NewsChannel 10

- ➤ The Panhandle Great 25 Nurses Committee now accepts applications for Fall 2025 scholarships for undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students (including a new LVN program) and a leadership scholarship (Dr. Valerie Kiper Doctoral Leadership Scholarship); applicants must submit by May 31st and winners will be honored at the 9th Annual ceremony in November. - ➤ Texas Tech’s School of Veterinary Medicine held its first graduation on May 18th at the Amarillo Civic Center Auditorium and awarded 61 DVM degrees to students committed to rural care. State leaders, including Texas Gov.
