- ➤ High Noon on the Square returns today on the historic Potter County Courthouse lawn in downtown Amarillo for its 30th season with live music, $10 lunches and free popsicles provided by the city as part of its Every Drop Counts campaign. The series runs every Wednesday through July—inviting families to bring their own lawn chairs or picnic blankets for casual outdoor fun. Amarillo Globe-News
- ➤ Amarillo Meals on Wheels delivers about 360 meals every day to elderly and disabled residents and now faces higher costs as meal prices have nearly doubled (from $2.50 to about $4.75). - ➤ Amarillo Little Theatre will host a one-night concert on June 7 at 7:30 p.m. at the Allen Shankles Mainstage that features eight leading men from past productions and special guests singing songs from roles they played and roles they never played. The event will raise funds for ALT’s 98th season and youth education programs with $50 tickets for pre-show cocktails + open bar or $25 for general admission and VIP perks for $1,000 donations. - ➤ The 37th annual Coors Cowboy Club Ranch Rodeo returns to the Amarillo National Center tomorrow and will feature western shows and competitions starting at 7 p.m. The event highlights include a Route 66 Cattle Drive on June 7 at 10 a.m. — a $25 chuckwagon lunch will follow at the Tri-State Fairgrounds. - ➤ BLM hosted a public event in Amarillo on May 29 and is now asking for comments on plans to convert the former helium reserve into a recreation area offering horseback riding, hiking, camping, and hunting. The agency will work with the Federal Highway Commission to secure permanent access and build roads, trails, and campgrounds over the next five years—comments are accepted through June 12.
