Ziggi’s Coffee is opening its new shop on VFW Road near Canyon on Tuesday, June 10th, serving specialty coffees, teas, smoothies and breakfast items.
The business will offer special deals from June 16 to 22 (including discounts on drinks and food) and operate (Monday-Friday 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday-Sunday 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.) as owners Floyd Lane and Becky Lane prepare to welcome guests.

On Saturday, 60 longhorns and riders marched down Polk Street as part of the Coors Cowboy Club Cattle Drive while thousands lined the street.
The event—part of the Texas Route 66 Festival—celebrated Amarillo’s cattle heritage and passed historic downtown landmarks.

Caprock Canyons State Park is hosting guided bat tours every Friday evening through August that let visitors see around 500,000 Mexican free-tailed bats take flight from Clarity Tunnel—tours start two hours before sunset at Monks Crossing and are led by a park ranger.

A hailstorm with 84 mph winds and 3-inch hail hit Canyon between 2 and 3 a.m. Sunday, damaging more than 200 homes, shattering windows at the Legacy Apartments, and affecting West Texas A&M campus buildings — Mayor Gary Hinders will sign a disaster declaration at 2 p.m. today.

Amarillo’s donut scene has expanded with at least seven outlets now serving more varieties, and Got Donuts is constructing two new locations—while long-time fans still enjoy the classic cherry donuts at Donut Stop.
Since Texas does not allow casino resorts, Amarillo locals drive to gaming spots in New Mexico and Oklahoma—these casinos offer hotel stays and a mix of dining, gaming, and live entertainment.
The options range from resort-style venues to smaller setups along rural highways.
