ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A head-on crash on Saturday night around 10:03 p.m. on FM 1151 about four miles southeast of Amarillo killed 74-year-old Julio Guerra, who was not wearing a seatbelt, and injured 25-year-old Ezequiel Villarreal, who was taken to BSA Hospital—officials said conditions were clear and dry. - ➤ Texas Senate Bill 17 would block foreign buyers deemed security risks from purchasing land, and the bill passed the House with amendments; it will return to the Senate before moving to Governor Abbott for his signature—if approved, the new law will secure Texas property against non-citizen purchases. - ➤ TxDOT Amarillo said the left turn lane on westbound US 60 at State Loop 335 is closed today for routine maintenance—drivers can use a detour to southbound SL 335. Crews will also cause delays on RM 2381 and FM 1719, close parts of the I-40 frontage road, and set overnight detours on the Bell Street bridge as they work on asphalt and high-mast lighting throughout the week.
