- ➤ The Inaugural Medals vs Badges Pitch’N Slide event will take place at the Texas Panhandle War Memorial on Friday, June 20 at 5:30 p.m.—each team must include a veteran or first responder and pay $35 for a chance to win cash prizes of $500, $250 and $100. - ➤ A new union contract raised wages to $23.60 an hour for over 3,000 JBS workers at the Cactus plant, replacing the 401(k) with a company-funded pension retroactive to June 2024 and adding protections such as overtime pay, funeral leave, healthcare upgrades & union representation. - ➤ Today, the Amarillo Environmental Health Department recommends that residents dump stagnant water from items such as bird baths and pet bowls to help control mosquitoes and prevent West Nile and St. Louis Encephalitis.
