- ➤ The Amarillo SPCA is asking for donations of furniture, small appliances, clean clothing and household items to fund its September garage sale. - ➤ On Monday, July 7, DPS—along with Homeland Security Investigations and the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation—raided three massage parlors in Amarillo and arrested two locals, Zhi Zhi Luna and Zhen Li Parr, on charges tied to human trafficking and prostitution. ABC 7 Amarillo

- ➤ The Amarillo Municipal Court parking lot is under construction and will have no parking on the south side until January 5, 2026; visitors must use north side parking by entering through the Police Department entrance. - ➤ The Amarillo Fire Department sent Engine 41 and four firefighters to Central Texas to help with search, rescue, recovery, and cleanup after deadly floods that killed at least 88 people and left many missing. - ➤ Amarillo city council is set to approve a deal with Public Sector Search and Consulting, Inc. today to conduct a national search for a new police chief after Chief Martin Birkenfeld suddenly retired.
