  • Amarillo police conducted an operation on July 10 at high accident hotspots including Thompson and John Stiff parks—resulting in 49 traffic contacts, 27 citations, two arrests and six warrants served as part of efforts to reduce deadly racing and reckless driving incidents.  NewsChannel 10

  • Amarillo’s Cadillac Ranch is a famous roadside attraction with spray‐painted, half‐buried cars that draw crowds of tourists and locals. The site was ranked seventh among Texas’s busiest attractions — a sign of its lasting appeal along Route 66.  NewsTalk 940 AM

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Starting this fall, Amarillo College will offer new fire protection technology courses with eight-week online classes to help working firefighters earn an associate degree; students who have completed fire academy or basic EMT courses can finish the remaining coursework online and may pay no tuition. Fall classes begin on Aug 25 and Oct 27 — advising and enrollment are available at the First Responders Academy on Plains Blvd.  NewsChannel 10
