- ➤ Amarillo Animal Management and Welfare has partnered with Petco Love Lost to launch an artificial intelligence database—using facial recognition to help reunite lost pets with their families. Pet owners can create profiles before their pets go missing and the shelter displays lost pet reports on a map—already reuniting two pets. ABC 7 Amarillo

- ➤ On July 11th, 2025, a black car hit the Historic Route 66 monument in Amarillo at 10:45 p.m.—Daniel Ridgway was charged with DWI as crews removed brick pieces to check for salvageable parts. ABC 7 Amarillo
- ➤ An 18-year-old from Canyon was arrested on July 2 under an emergency mental health warrant after a multi-agency investigation stopped an alleged July 4 attack that would have used explosives and firearms—law enforcement seized materials for explosives, multiple guns, and hundreds of rounds from his home. - ➤ Several Amarillo Regional Crime Center members traveled to Central Texas Monday to support search and recovery missions after flooding left over 100 people missing over the 4th of July weekend. The team will use drones with infrared plus support first responders as the mission continues for multiple days. NewsChannel 10
- ➤ The Amarillo VA Health Care System will host a Veterans Town Hall on Thursday, July 17 at Amarillo College West Campus Lecture Hall. Veterans and their families can meet VA leaders as resource tables and refreshments begin at 5:30 p.m.—the town hall runs from 6 to 7 p.m. NewsChannel 10
- ➤ City Manager Grayson Path confirmed on Tuesday that Alex Fairly resigned as chair and member of the AEDC board after saying he did not enjoy serving on boards.
