- ➤ Tremaine Brown from Shi’Lee’s Barbecue is leading a drive to collect school supplies for the Braids and Fades Backpack Giveaway on Aug. 10 at the Warford Activity Center — community members may drop off donations at the Warford Activity Center or Shi’Lee’s Barbecue and pre-register on Aug. 2 at the Unity in the Community Water Bash at Bones Hook Park. - ➤ Officials identified 36-year-old Melissa Mungia as the woman who died in an explosion at Panhandle Milling in Dawn on Wednesday morning — her body was found in the debris as multiple agencies responded to the incident. NewsChannel 10

- ➤ On July 23, the EnterPrize Challenge awarded $100K each to Fire Fit, Free Cheese Prints and Panhandle Prosthetics at WT Enterprise Center in Amarillo. - ➤ Shipley Do-Nuts opened its first Amarillo shop on July 22 at 2808 S. Georgia St. where customers lined up in the drive-thru and inside for fresh donuts, kolaches and coffee starting at 5 a.m. The shop sold over 800 kolaches on opening day and now operates until 5 p.m. daily — offering handcrafted pastries made on-site.
