- ➤ Amarillo Fire Department crews responded to six fires this week including a suspected intentional blaze near SW 3rd and Austin on July 23 at 12:31 a.m., where a victim was treated for cyanide poisoning and is expected to recover, a mobile home fire on Sunday that caused one fatality and heavy damage, and Monday incidents in which two dogs were rescued and smoke inhalation victims received treatment—officials are investigating each event and report no connection between them.
