- ➤ The 55+ Club of Amarillo—formerly the Amarillo Senior Citizens Association—is hosting a parking lot party on Aug. 9 from 5 to 8 p.m. at 2404 SW 6th Ave to raise funds for renovations at its new Senior Activities Center, which will offer programs to help ease senior loneliness. The event will feature live music, a food truck and community booths to boost social connection. Amarillo Tribune

- ➤ The Amarillo International Film Festival will take place at Arts In The Sunset from October 9 to 11 and will show films from seven foreign countries, ten states, and local makers. On October 9, a VIP reception with a screening and Q&A session moderated by Karen Welch will run from 6 PM to 9 PM—tickets go on sale on August 11 while the complete schedule will be released in early September.
