- ➤ Amarillo Animal Management and Welfare is hosting its Clear the Shelter event until the end of August to waive adoption fees and related costs for dog and cat adoptions—residents can visit at 3501 S. - ➤ The Texas Tech University System Board of Regents has adopted new rules for forming faculty senates at its five universities in response to Senate Bill 37 and Texas law, with compliance required by Sept. 1. The guidelines require a mix of elected and president-appointed members, set membership limits and term rules, and establish the Senate as an advisory body—ensuring it does not have final decision-making power. - ➤ The Amarillo College Board of Regents cut $3 million in expenses and set a 2025 no-new revenue tax rate of 0.20773 per $100 while recommending a maximum rate of 0.21994 for 2025—2026.
