- ➤ Amarillo police are searching for 16-year-old Israel Palacios, who was last seen Sunday at 6 p.m. at his home on N. Bivins near Martin Lake wearing a tan 'Scarface' t-shirt, black baseball cap, jeans and black New Balance shoes—he is diabetic and needs insulin; anyone with information should call the police. - ➤ A Cadillac SUV ran a red light at Olsen Blvd. and I-40 around 10:30 a.m., colliding with a Toyota sedan and injuring both drivers — both vehicles were totaled and the victims were taken to the hospital. ABC 7 Amarillo

- ➤ Storybridge LIVE returns for its fifth year on Saturday, Oct. 4 from 9 a.m. to noon at Hodgetown Stadium, offering families a day to meet book characters, enjoy face painting, see balloon art and receive free books plus a souvenir autograph card; Early Access tickets for $10 allow guests to join at 9 a.m. for shorter lines. - ➤ Amarillo and Canyon ISDs increased teacher pay and safety funds but still face budget gaps and rising costs for school security—district leaders noted that declining enrollment and a court order blocking a mandate for Ten Commandments posters add to their challenges. - ➤ The City of Amarillo Environmental Health Department expanded its mosquito control program by releasing fathead minnows after studying a similar effort in Las Vegas. The department has released the native fish at four city sites from indoor tanks and plans to let residents take minnows for their properties — a cost-effective alternative to chemical treatments.
