- ➤ The Amarillo Fire Department responded to a commercial structure fire at 4014 South Washington Street Saturday evening at 9:27 p.m.—firefighters declared a Mayday after heavy smoke and high heat in the vacant convenience store disoriented three crew members—and a Rapid Intervention Team rescued them while crews battled a partial roof collapse that led to estimated property and content losses of $108,180 and $20,000. - ➤ 22-year-old Genaro Israel Rocha III was arrested Sunday in Amarillo and charged with four counts of felony sex offenses and a misdemeanor for purchasing or furnishing alcohol to a minor—he also faces a DUI case from July. KGNC
