- ➤ The Dallas Cowboys Hall of Fame Truck will return to Amarillo at Cinergy Entertainment on Friday, October 24th from 4 pm to 8 pm—offering free tailgate games, giveaways, and drink specials for fans. - ➤ On Saturday, a 13-year-old girl and her friend hosted a fundraiser with T-Mobile to help rebuild Sunray ISD's football stadium after it was damaged by 100 mph winds—local residents joined in by buying lemonade, goodies, and enjoying free hot dogs donated by T-Mobile. The raffle drawing is scheduled for October 24th, and community members can vote daily for a chance at a $1 million field upgrade prize. ABC 7 Amarillo

- ➤ On Oct 16th, West Texas A&M University's Cornette Library unveiled a new bronze sculpture honoring Emily Dickinson in the Poets' Garden, where it will eventually stand near the Robert Frost statue once landscaping is completed. Sculptor Jane DeDecker said the work was based on Dickinson's famous poem 'Hope is the Thing with Feathers' and created after careful research. Amarillo Globe-News
- ➤ Amarillo Botanical Gardens will host a trail of 1,000 hand-carved jack-o'-lanterns, singing pumpkins, and giant displays from October 22nd to October 25th, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at 1400 Streit Dr.—Tickets cost $10 at the gate with free entry for children 5 and under. NewsTalk 940 AM
- ➤ Some people think the Texas Chainsaw Massacre happened near Amarillo after a movie scene mentioned Childress County—experts confirm the film was shot in central Texas and its tale is entirely made up. 96.9 KISS FM

- ➤ Drivers in Amarillo enjoy lower gas prices as local fuel now costs $2.47 a gallon while the statewide average is $2.64 a gallon, thanks to decreased summer travel demand and a switch from a summer blend to a winter blend. Dallas saw a 21-cent drop to $2.60 and national fuel averages remain near $3.04 per gallon & refineries continue steady production with no major storms affecting supplies. 96.9 KISS FM

- ➤ Sheriff Michael Ryan, also known as Big Mac, died Friday night after a long career serving Gray County. The Sheriff’s Office announced his passing on Saturday and said it will update the community on funeral arrangements soon. NewsChannel 10

- ➤ Amarillo opened its first padel courts at the National Tennis Center when a ribbon cutting was held at 11:30 a.m. Sunday; Parks and Recreation partnered with the Alex O’Brien Tennis Foundation in a project that cost nearly $1,000,000 — with half of the funding coming from each party.
