- ➤ Community activist Tremaine Brown hosted Shi Lee's 10th annual Trunk-or-Treat and winter coat giveaway at Bones Hooks Park on Saturday. Hundreds of children in costumes participated as over 50 volunteers handed out candy and warm clothing to help protect them during the coming cold. ABC 7 Amarillo

- ➤ A Toys R Us store recently opened in Lubbock—raising hopes among Amarillo shoppers that Westgate Mall could soon see the return of the nostalgic toy retailer. Locals remember the store fondly from when it closed seven years ago and now eagerly await official plans. NewsTalk 940 AM
- ➤ A store on I-27 in Amarillo will change from Cefco to Casey’s starting in January and ending in April. Casey’s will keep popular chicken tenders and tacos while the future of the attached Sonic is still uncertain — the conversion is part of several ongoing changes along the highway. NewsTalk 940 AM
- ➤ Wesley’s BBQ at 6406 River Rd now will open only on Fridays from 11-7 after today—its new schedule comes as the restaurant faces slow weekday business and rising costs.
