- ➤ Amarillo’s Kind House Ukraine Bakery launched its Soup for Souls program—providing free soup and bread—to help locals as a federal shutdown threatens SNAP payments. - ➤ The city of Amarillo is pushing to collect over 1,500 new pairs of socks for the homeless as part of its first Socktober drive led by the Coming Home Program and the United Way Youth Leadership Council. - ➤ On Oct 28, city officials and community members gathered at City Hall for the unveiling of the Amarillo Cowboy statue—a bronze tribute honoring the legacy of late sculptor Jack Hill and the region’s Western spirit.
