COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Hope and Healing Place in Amarillo invites community members to join its Hope for the Holidays event today. The free event runs from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.—offering support, hands-on activities, light refreshments, and the kickoff of its HopeGiving campaign.  NewsChannel 10
  • On November 25, the 36th Amarillo Community Prayer Breakfast will be held at the Amarillo Civic Center North Exhibit Hall—community members will gather to offer thanks and pray for guidance. Julie Miller, executive director of Adera Foundation—will speak at the event, and tickets cost $10 at the door.  NewsChannel 10
  • Panhandle Restaurant Association will host the Taste of the Holidays wine dinner on Nov. 13 at 6:30 p.m. at Joe’s Place on 2108 Paramount Blvd in Amarillo where Culinary Arts students from AmTech Career Academy will prepare a multi-course meal + each course will be paired with Juggernaut Wines to raise funds for local culinary arts classes through $100 tickets.  NewsChannel 10
  • An aerobics class at the Amarillo Town Club collected money, warm socks and hand-crocheted crosses—donations meant for a bible study serving homeless neighbors—to create 40 Christmas presents. The gifts will be given at a Christmas party on December 11 to offer some normalcy during the holidays.  NewsChannel 10

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Town Square Diner opened today in Town Square Village as the new branch from Shelby's Diner that brings classic comfort food to the area. The diner serves breakfast, lunch, and early dinner Monday to Wednesday from 7 am to 2 pm plus Thursday to Saturday from 7 am to 2 pm and 5:30 pm to 9 pm while it remains closed on Sunday.  96.9 KISS FM
  • Ruben visited Stevie Stacks Industrial in Hereford where owner Stevie Balderaz, who grew up here and gained 15 years of industrial sales experience, said he started the fabrication shop in 2023 and built his business by adding former colleagues to serve local and regional customers — he expressed pride in supporting the local industry.  NewsChannel 10

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Amarillo College East Campus will host its largest-ever Career Fair on Nov. 5 with two sessions—one from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and one from 5 to 7 p.m.—designed to connect students with a growing group of more than 20 local employers. Free food and refreshing drinks will be provided as a way for students to explore career paths across all East Campus majors.  NewsChannel 10
  • Jeff Roche—an author and Canyon graduate—will speak at West Texas A&M University tomorrow at 7 p.m. in the Thunder Room and discuss West Texas roots of modern conservatism while offering a Q&A session after his lecture with free admission.  NewsChannel 10
  • West Texas A&M University is offering half-priced tuition to eligible community college employees including teachers, administrators, and nurses as part of its Educator’s Excellence Initiative expansion — the new benefit will begin in Spring 2026 to help address certification shortages.  NewsChannel 10

LIFESTYLE NEWS

  • After the local Chuck E Cheese closed in April, Amarillo families now drive to Lubbock for a taste of the childhood fun they once knew — the trip gives parents one final chance to celebrate birthdays before kids outgrow the joy of the arcade.  96.9 KISS FM
  • At Pink Cadillac Boutique in Canyon, women can join belly dancing classes every Thursday from 4 to 5:30 p.m.—located at 307 Country Club Drive. The beginner lessons, taught by Shelly Stephens who has 25 years of experience, cost $20 per person.  NewsTalk 940 AM
