  • Last Sunday, Hillside Christian Church returned envelope offerings of $20 and up to its members at all 10 campuses so they could help meet community needs—over 100 stories of aid have already been shared.  NewsChannel 10
  • Amarillo SPCA is hosting Christmas fundraisers to help cover rising shelter costs with a Fill the Box drive at local sponsors and Santa Paws Pet Pictures sessions on December 13 and 14—pet lovers can donate supplies or pay for a pet portrait to support animals until they find homes.  Amarillo Globe-News
  • Residents visiting Cinergy in Amarillo this November can donate four 12-oz cans of food to help the High Plains Food Bank serve local families in need—donors receive a $10 game card or a small popcorn. The food drive runs through November 30.  96.9 KISS FM

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Alliance Credit Union broke ground on its first permanent branch at 4711 S. Soncy Road on Nov. 14—hosting a pep-rally with local schools and community leaders—and began construction immediately. The 12,300-square-foot facility is planned to offer full financial services and community spaces, with an opening expected in 2026.  Amarillo Globe-News
  • An Amarillo DoorDash driver said that PIN-required deliveries cause delays when customers take too long to provide the code—leading to longer waits and no tip. He explained that the extra step, meant to verify the delivery, often results in added work and frustration.  NewsTalk 940 AM

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum in Canyon has remained closed for repairs, but its Christmas Open House will still be held on the east lawn on December 6 from 1 pm to 3 pm—where Santa will take photos, and children will enjoy hot cocoa, choir songs, and holiday crafts with a suggested donation for the High Plains Food Bank.  NewsTalk 940 AM

  • Amarillo’s Discovery Center is hosting its Friendsgiving Day Camp on November 24, 25, and 26 for children ages 4 through 4th grade — the program offers full- and half-day sessions with $10 pre- and after-care options — to give parents time to manage holiday tasks while kids enjoy hands-on science and crafts.  NewsTalk 940 AM
